Mother’s Day 2022

This handwritten daughter’s letter to her mom is shared as a reminder that your thoughts, words, and deeds make a difference.
As this daughter’s letter shows, kids notice what you say and do even when, as did this mother, you think they don’t.
,
You know how you turn in shock to see if the teacher at parent’s night is talking about another child when she raves about the maturity and manners of your child. This certainly can’t be the same child you struggle with each day to do the right things.
The good news is that you get smarter over time. (Or is it that they get smarter over time?)
Many shift their belief from – “Oh, Mom you just don’t ‘get’ it”— to— Oh, hark! you might have a bit of wisdom.
Interestingly, the very things that once frustrated you, might now put a smile on your face as you review scrapbook memories . . .
The picture is still vivid of how your sweet little daughter cut her bangs which she denied even though her bangs just barely made it below her hairline! ( Hmm . . . know this one!)
You recall, with amusement (now), how the ball your son threw just happened, SOMEHOW, really don’t know how – to land through a window and shatter it.
A chuckle escapes over how your child wandered over to a neighbor’s and announced she had chickenpox to the homeowner who never had it! (Dad with the next-door neighbor’s little girl)
Moms, thank you for making it through those times – we celebrate you!
May all the good learning you have shared make them think.
Remember— “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” · Proverbs 22:6
May all the positive examples you model – be modeled by them to their children and be a heritage of good parenting shared.
Thank you to all with or without children for everything you give birth to and to everyone you lovingly nurture, encourage, and support.

On this special day and always, let the goodness and healing of “mother love” find its way into every mind, heart, and soul and be spread throughout the world with God’s light.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        “The love of a mother is the veil of a softer light between the heart and the heavenly Father.” – Samuel Taylor Coleridge
                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Happy Mother’s Day!
