The Perfect Father

SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSONS

We have always had the most perfect father— God, the Father Almighty.
We can always look up to Him. He not only gave us life, but He is also life. His love is eternal and we are never separated from His love for us.
His love is so great, that He sent his only Begotten Son, to sacrifice his life to pay debt and to show us the way to live a Christed life to come home to Him.
Many also looked up to their fathers here on earth. When young some thought their father was a hero and wanted to be like him when they grew up.
The word hero comes from the Greek ἥρως (hērōs), “hero” (literally “protector” or “defender”), such as Biblical figures with divine ancestry or later given divine honors.
More and more people today seek to raise their children aligned with God’s principles and be as consistent as He is in His love and faithfulness.
With that in mind and in honor of this Father’s Day, we offer a new free resource – STORIES OF BIBLE HEROES TO LEARN AND LIVE BY. [Under our “Life Resource” tab]
The first story is fitting for today –“Abraham—Father of the Faithful” written by Mary A. Lathbury.
Abraham was given a test by God to make a sacrifice of the son he so loved. He was faithful and obedient to God and did as God told him to do. Abraham showed faith in action.
We rejoice and praise God our Father who art in heaven and give great thanks to all fathers who teach their children well and seek to love them as God loves us.
