This photo, posted online the other day, gives us an important message to put in our back pockets to remind us– Pray about it as much as you think about it.

The impact of this statement reminds me of a story about a person who supposedly delivered a graduation speech.

The story goes he took the podium, looked into the crowd, paused, and said one line – “Never, never give up.” Then he sat down to a standing ovation.

Not sure if that actually happened that way, but as a story, it exemplifies the power that a simple, true statement can hold.

‘Pray about it as often as we think about it’ is an important insight when we consider how often we think about an issue of concern.

Many times we permit it to invade our thoughts at home and at work. The focus on our issue distracts us, clouds our clarity, and takes away from our involvement in life.

So let’s borrow from the lesson of the first story about how the brevity of a single true statement can have a great impact.

Pray about as much as we think about it.
